A homegrown partner
Cavell is built in Belgium, for the Belgian reality. Dutch, French and German, fluently, even mixed within one consultation, and including regional accents or dialects. Not a tool from Silicon Valley that stumbles over West Flemish or Brussels speech. For Corilus, this linguistic nuance was non-negotiable.
The right medical jargon
Cavell is not a generic speech recognition tool with a medical veneer. Cavell is specifically trained on clinical language and automatically converts what the doctor says in natural words into a correct, professionally formulated medical report with the right terminology, not a literal transcription.
Easily integrable architecture
Cavell was built as the engine beneath an EHR, not alongside it. Authentication, session state and write permissions are baked in by design. The output is moreover not a raw transcription but immediately a structured SOAP report with extracted codes (parameters, diagnoses), ready to be written into CareConnect GP, without a second processing step.
Privacy comes first
Just like at Corilus, privacy is central at Cavell. All processing takes place within the EU. Patient data is never used to train Cavell's models, and audio recordings are never stored. Cavell is therefore fully GDPR-compliant and obtained the ISO 27001 certificate.
How does this partnership work on a technical level?
Cavell provides the AI engine via API, an SDK for the real-time audio and transcription pipeline, and an embedded UI layer that runs directly inside CareConnect GP. The GP sees one product: there is no separate Cavell tab, no separate login and no extra window.
How long did the integration between Cavell and Corilus take?
From the first conversation to the first live consultation in production takes about one quarter. A significant part of the time was spent on aligning the SOAP output with the existing record structure in CareConnect GP, not on the speech technology itself, which was production-ready from day one.
How does this partnership work commercially?
It is a white-label partnership. Cavell provides the software: the AI engine, the transcription, the SOAP structuring and the continuous improvement of the model. Corilus does what they have always done well: commercialisation, onboarding, first-line support and the relationship with the GP. The GP has one point of contact, one contract and one invoice: Corilus.
